Gehl Architects’ Camilla van Deurs says that exposure is important in a democratic society and that architecture can contribute to it.

To paraphrase her: “Architecture can offer possibilities for people that are dissimilar - in terms of education, capital and culture - to look eye to eye.”

Gehl Architects are always on point. Their book “CITIES FOR PEOPLE” is great, showing how design can improve the ‘social performance’ of a city.
